Smart LED lighting
Intelligent lighting for all scenarios
Smart lighting from ILLUMENAI
Highly customizable, low voltage, LED smart lighting control
The Illumenai platform can leverage Power over Ethernet (PoE) or existing AC fixtures for power. PoE has the benefit of being less costly to install and runs at a safe low voltage. Alternatively, we can use WiFi for control, and existing AC circuits for power. The system can vary the lighting from 3000 Kelvin (warm white) up to 6000 Kelvin (bright white), while controlling the brightness from 1% up to the full brightness of 8,000 Lumens (at 80 Watts power). It can also control RGB lights for billions of available colours.
Return on investment
The smart lighting module can save significant costs in lighting your space due to the high level of data and intelligence of the system.
- Using light harvesting, the platform will optimize brightness of lighting based on other light sources (like the sun).
- Automatically light only the parts of the space that are being used.
Auto responding smart lighting
- Each luminaire takes into account the sunlight coming from outside to enable it to adjust automatically to provide continuous illumination to the users desktop. The system also factors in other local light sources in its calculation of output Lux level.
- The system also factors in other local light sources in its calculation of output Lux level, optimizing the user environment for maximum comfort.
Real-time sensing
- Real-time sensor information from 10 separate sensors, as well as external environmental factors, is analyzed continuously to feed the algorithms that power the intelligence of the system.
- Some data is processed at source to provide edge based analytics for a better user experience. Other data is sent back to the serverless cloud architecture to be worked on by machine learning algorithms.
- High resolution sensing and the platform capabilities will assist post-COVID workplace re-entry readiness.
Accurate presence detection
- From the vast data set we collect, the lighting module extracts presence status by combining movement, sound and CO2 to ensure the system knows that the space is occupied.
- The light status is also dynamically adjusted depending on the occupation level of the space to ensure that the lights are on when you need them, but off when you don't.
- Our platform will estimate the number of people in a space, which will help with office planning and physical distancing measures.
Planet focused
- With the energy savings possible from the smart lighting capability, the illumenai platform will deliver a corresponding reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
- Try out the CO2 savings calculator to see how much of a positive impact illumenai could have in your workplace.
Increased productivity
- Human-centric smart lighting has the potential to increase productivity through improved circadian rhythm management. This simulates the daytime variation in sunlight. This has been shown to reduce stress on the body for people that are not positioned close to a window.
- Tunable light temperature let's the user select the most appropriate lighting for the task. Warm white provides a soft light for working on a computer screen, and bright white is good for high contrast work.
- The system can be set anywhere from 3000 Kelvin to 6000 Kelvin.
Employee wellness
- Blue light control is provided to help with user wellness by reducing or increasing blue light when needed.
- A wellness timer is available that will oscillate the lighting to indicate to the employee that a break from their work would be beneficial to their wellbeing.
- The system also drives the LED's in the light fixtures at a very high frequency, which can eliminate flicker-induced headaches.
How do we know all this?
We have been working with Carleton University in Ottawa on a whitepaper to show the incredible savings that our smart lighting methods can return. Contact us for a copy of the paper.
